Our cushion The Lion Chaser is an extract of the painting "The Dream" by Henri Rousseau (1844-1910).
Rousseau, a self-taught painter, traveled very little. Most of his jungles were painted at the Museum of Natural History and in the Jardin des Plantes which inspired him from 1890 onwards. The oil on canvas "The Dream" painted in 1910 is the last masterpiece of the artist and is exhibited and preserved at the Museum of Modern Art in New York (MOMA). Our jacquard woven cushion cover is a reproduction of an excerpt from the original painting.
Entirely woven and made in France in our northern workshops located in Halluin and labeled "Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant".
