Cushion cover Arearea after the painting of Paul Gauguin (1848-1903).
Paul Gauguin went to Tahiti in 1891, an island he imagined to be paradisiacal and primitive. This painting, painted during a trip in 1892, shows Tahitian women engaged in daily tasks. Arearea is representative of these compositions where dreams and reality meet. This work is exhibited and preserved at the Musée d'Orsay in Paris. Our cushion cover in jacquard weaving is an extract of the original painting.
Entirely woven and made in France in the workshops of the Jules Pansu house located in Halluin in the North of France.
