Les Sonneurs du Roi tapestry, inspired by a prestigious series celebrating the conquests and victories of the Sun King.
The Brussels workshops were inspired by a prestigious series "L'Histoire du Roi" created by Charles Le Brun and the Flemish painter Der Meulun between 1665 and 1680, which devoted the conquests and victories of the Sun King. This series does not recount specific feats of arms, but rather the day-to-day operations of the armies of the time.
