Paysage merveilleux tapestry, a work inspired by a panorama painted by Joseph Fuchs in 1861.
Based on a 19th century wallpaper. The "Wonderful Landscape" is taken from a panoramic painting by Joseph Fuchs entitled Eden, painted in 1861. This very large painting depicts a beautifully executed tropical forest. It allowed the new bourgeoisie to "travel" to imaginary lands while decorating their vast homes.
