Verdure Audenarde tapestry, inspired by the "mille-fleurs" of the Middle Ages and the "aristoloches" of the 16th century.
Influenced by the medieval "mille-fleurs" and the 16th century "aristolochia" or "cabbage leaves", the "verdure" tapestries appear in Flanders, Brussels and Audenarde in the early 17th century. "Verdure" tapestries could be compared to landscape-painting, no characters, no religious or mythological scenes, only nature and occasionally a few animals or buildings in the background.
Our tapestries are woven and finished in our workshops located in Flanders, in northern France.
