Captive Unicorn tapestry in Halluin stitch, based on a series of seven tapestries entitled "The Hunt for the Unicorn".
Our wall tapestry is one of a series of seven panels probably commissioned by Anne of Brittany, Queen of France, for her marriage to Louis d'Orléans. In the Middle Ages, this fabulous animal was the symbol of purity. A golden chain ties it to a tree bearing pomegranates, signifying marriage and fertility. Our tapestries are woven and made in our Les Tissages de la Lys workshops in Halluin in northern France.
