Jacquard tapestry François I emblematic king of the French Renaissance.
François I is the monarch whose name is closely linked to the Loire Valley. The first years of his reign were marked by the enlargement of the Château de Blois and the commissioning of the Château de Chambord. Numerous châteaux and magnificent residences were built, distinguished by their new style and strongly inspired by Italian taste.
Our tapestry is a portrait of the monarch in richly decorated garb. Woven and produced in jacquard weaving in our Les Tissages de la Lys workshops in Halluin, Flanders.
