Le pressoir tapestry, inspired by a 15th-century haute lisse work on display at the Musée de Cluny.
After a high-wrap French tapestry; second half of the 15th century. Museum of Cluny. In the Middle-Ages, tapestries were almost exclusively intended for the lords, yet they sometimes pictured scenes fromeveryday life. The artist has set the tapestry against a flowerdotted background and exalts the work on the wine. While the workers are busy around the vines, the elegant people enjoy tasting the juice of the first grapes.
